Description of RCSD's After School Programs

Vision

The vision of the Ravenswood City School District's Academies for Learning After School is:
Inspiring Growth

Integrating Communities

Impacting Lives

Goals

Our goals:

Students will take pride in participating in fun math and literacy activities that improve academic achievement.

Families will be motivated to actively engage in opportunities that strengthen relationships between all school and local community members.

Students will feel empowered to broaden their life experiences as they learn to navigate available resources in education.

Programming

The Ravenswood City School District currently has 8 on-site after school programs at the following sites: Belle Haven Community School, Cesar Chavez Academy, Costano Elementary, Green Oaks Academy, James Flood Magnet School, Willow Oaks Elementary, Edison Brentwood Academy, and Ronald McNair Academy.

Due to the limited amount of available spaces, enrollment at all programs occurs in the following way: teacher recommendation and parent request on a first come first serve basis. Programs begin immediately after school and are open until 6pm every regular school day. Every program provides homework assistance for its participants, as well as academic support and enrichment activities, all of which are aligned to the California Content Standards.

For more information on programs, including available spaces, contact the After School Site Coordinator at each school site.
