Welcome from the Superintendent
Welcome from Superintendent Maria De La Vega
Welcome to the Ravenswood City School District, an academic and culturally diverse community of students, teachers, staff and parents who work
together in a supportive, responsive and collaborative environment.
Our goal is to provide an effective educational system that equips all students with the necessary knowledge and skills to excel in high school and beyond. We are dedicated to a system of instruction that empowers students to make choices, achieve their personal best and be productive and responsible members of our society.
We have a solid master plan based on three guiding principals: results from assessing students' work to improve instruction; relationships that come from collaborative partnerships that include not only the district, but the community at large; and a system of accountability that is responsive to the community.
Without a doubt, the three Rs are working. The 2007/2008 school year will certainly benefit from the progress we’ve made in student and teacher retention, achievement of higher test scores, improved employee compensation, increased support for staff, students and families, and so much more.
We all have a stake in the future of our students. As superintendent, I’m honored to have a role in RCSD’s Journey to Excellence. We are well on our way.
